The girls were in the Gladfest Parade for Girl Scouts. We had so much fun coming up with our theme as Gladfest for the parade was Back in Time. We decorated the float Friday night, had pizza and then up at the crack of dawn on Saturday. While we were waiting (a long time) for the parade to start the girls went over and into a bus that had senior citizens from a retirement home. They loved it. The ladies talked and talked and to the girls especially they loved Parker! I was so proud of the Girl Scouts for thinking of that. Community involvement is a big part of our troop! We don't do the foo foo things! LOL
Our Outfits. The kids were so cute
Walking the parade and handing out candy. It was a beautiful day!
Despite the bad weather we got to see this beautiful rainbow!
This is the girls stayed in the lodge and had a blast. They learned to finger weave.
The older girls were in charge of food. They made a dump cake and we put it on the fire. It was soooo good!
Sling Shots! The girls loved them. Annie really got into it LOL
Remember the weekend in September they had tornados? Well that is the Friday night and the girls camped out in Tonganoxie! They eneded up spending two nights in the lodge instead because of the rain. The boy scouts cancelled theirs...such babies! LOL
We also love the Missouri Conservation area. That is a big fish behind Parker. She looks so cute sitting in the nest and that turtle had a plastic pop holder (think 6 pack) around it when it was fine. Cut those up before you put them in the trach!
What fair isn't complete without racing pigs and the freak show. They wouldn't lets take pics inside but we saw a minature horse, a giant rat and a two headed turtle. Lots of things in jars. Kids loved it
Connor and Jordyn tackled the rock wall while Annie did the trampoline. She is in mid summersault!
Kids play area had awesome acitivies for the kids. Connor enjoyed the bubbles!
We've been married 20 years. Kelly grew up in Independence and Joe grew up in Eagleville. We were married 8 years before we had kids. It was well worth the wait. They keep us very busy and are becoming such wonderful people. I work full-time 12 hour rotating shifts for the Power Company.
